The Alton Mill is an 1880s stone knitting mill that has been lovingly converted into an arts centre housing 20+ artists & artisans in working studios, 3 galleries, a sculpture garden, café and unique shops. Sitting on the banks of Shaw’s creek, it has spectacular views from all three floors and throughout the grounds.
Rare Threads is a unique and interesting makers market that cultivate and supports textile and fibre arts in all forms. Nestled on the main floor of this historic building, the boutique is focused on Canadian, sustainable, and ethical designers and artisans.

An hour's drive from downtown Toronto, it is open to the public year-round Wednesdays through Sundays and Holiday Mondays 10-5. See below for the address and directions.
If you can't make it out, you can also buy online and have your courier pick up the item at the store. We will prep the package for your courier for a $15.00 fee and require 48hrs. for pick up.
